Here's why you — yes, YOU — should try pole dance

There are a lot of myths and assumptions about pole dance circulating the internet. Some folks equate it with stripping, but the two are not the same. Some people think it requires a lot of upper body

strength when really, you build that body strength through pole dance. And some are under the impression that it's all sexiness and heels; actually that may or may not be true.

Pole comes in as many varieties and interpretations as there are pole dancers. Pole is for people of all colors and religions and orientations. There's no One Way to do it. You see, pole dance is not some rigid program where all participants must buy into the philosophy of its creator. It doesn't involve vomiting between sets. It doesn't involve punishment. And best of all, it doesn't require comparing yourself to others.

Pole dance is all about you. If you want to get in touch with your body, your sexiness, your sensuality and femininity, then feel free to strap on those heels. If you want to channel your creativity through movement, choreography, and freestyle dancing, pole is a great way to do it. And if you are an athlete wanting a fun way to work out and see some real results in the process, pole engages every major muscle group AND it's great cardio.

It doesn't matter what you want to get out of pole dance; you will find what you desire and more. The pole environment is designed to help you achieve your goals, whatever they may be. You begin where you are, not where everyone else in the class is. You work from where you are coming from. It doesn't matter if you have injuries, ailments, limited mobility, or are pregnant. Your instructor will modify movements so that you can still get the most out of each class. If you are young or inexperienced, we will teach you. If you are older and think you're too old to try something so physical, your instructor will help you prove yourself wrong!

And you will be joining a community of sisters, all united by the goal of self-improvement. You can celebrate each other's successes and work through challenges together. Whether you're in class to work on your athletic abilities, to channel your sexiness, or to express yourself using your body, you're right. And your instructors and sisters will be there to help you do what you dream.

That's why pole is for you. Happy spinning!
